We are the change
Hello Friends,
This is the first New Moon of the year, and she arrives quietly, asking us to listen beneath the surface.
The New Moon is dark because, she sits between the Earth and the Sun, with her illuminated side facing away from us.
She hasn’t disappeared — she’s turned inward.
Astrologically, this is a moment of union, when the Sun and Moon meet in the same sign, merging the conscious and unconscious. This darkness isn’t empty; it’s fertile — a quiet womb where intentions are forming before they are ready to take shape.
This union takes place in Capricorn.
Capricorn is an Earth sign — grounded, steady, and deeply rooted in the material world. Ruled by Saturn, Capricorn carries the energy of structure, responsibility, and long-term vision. She teaches us how to build something real and lasting through patience, devotion, and consistency.
If you’ve felt an extra nudge to return to your practice, to commit more deeply, or to create rhythm and routine — you’re feeling the pull of this Moon.
Resourceful. Ambitious. Wise. Disciplined.
One of the core lessons here is the understanding that boundaries and structure actually create freedom. Capricorn asks us to make something sacred of our long-term goals and to accept the responsibility that comes with the evolution of our passions and professions.
When we ask for more, when we desire to grow into more of who we are, a new layer of responsibility always follows. This Moon offers a loving heads-up: create a solid foundation — practical, intentional, and innovative — so your material goals can truly take root & we are not surprised by what’s being asked of us in return.
She also brings focus. What we give our attention to is what manifest. When we choose one direction, one devotion, we build momentum. Capricorn reminds us that goals unfold exactly when they are meant to, and every small baby step is laying the groundwork for their full materialization.
Another powerful layer of this lunation is its conjunction with Pluto. Pluto, ruler of the underworld, governs purging, truth, and transformation. We are witnessing this energy collectively — old structures dissolving, hidden truths rising, political and cultural systems revealing their fractures. There is a massive purging underway.
And something important to remember in the midst of this: fulfillment always comes after something difficult.
We are being asked to use this New Moon energy — as part of the collective — to create structure within chaos, to cultivate inner sanctuaries of peace in a world that is clearly asking for them.
You know those moments when your life feels like it’s falling apart, when old systems die so that you can re-enter co-creation with the universe?
That is what’s happening collectively now.
Any illusion of control that exists only to avoid the fear of the unknown must fall away.
We are on the final weeks with the year of the snake until Feb 16. (Very fitting with Capricorn moon conjunct to Pluto!!)These weeks are the final moments to dissolve any remnants of the old skin. we reflect once more of those things that we do not want to come with us in the next cycle. & we are gentle on ourselves because sooo much has already shed this snake season.
Ritual:
If you’re someone who resonates with New Year intentions or goal setting, this is a beautiful Moon to map your steps forward with a grounded, practical approach.
Cacao & Lions Mane is a beautiful blend for a ritual like this!
Cacao to enhance creativity & lions mane to focus the mind.
One tiny action a day signals to your goals that you are available, that the process has begun. It doesn’t need to be grand — it just needs to be real.
Ritual 2. Tending to your body - let that be the first structure you put in place. As it sheds its final layers how do we nourish the space created?
Step by step, the mountain is climbed. 🐐🌑
